Barbeque La Bonta - Granite Hills Winery

This Macedon Ranges Wine and Food 'Budburst' Festival, La Bonta will be 'popping up' at Granite Hills Winery to provide a Tuscan inspired BBQ on-site at the winery.

We'll be barbecuing spiedino, chippolatta, tagliatta and much much more. We'll also have oysters aplenty, the perfect accompaniment to Llew Knight's fabulous riesling.

As part of this years Macedon Ranges Wine and Food 'Budburst' Festival La Bonta Chef Tim Austin will be heading out to Hanging Rock Winery to join forces with winemaker Robert Ellis for an afternoon of Macedon Ranges wine and food.

Robert will guide us through the process of making the fabulous Hanging Rock Sparkling Wine, and will also share other specialities from the winery including their Heathcote Shiraz, matched to their home grown Speckled Park beef.

Unlike a traditional Yoga Retreat, this trip will be as much about the holiday as it will be about the Yoga... a chance to mindfully enjoy all that Italy has to offer, while developing your Yoga practice at the same time.

Morning Yoga classes, a cooking class with Chef Tim for lunch, then an afternoon exploring local wineries and some of the sights of Le Marche, before we're back to the retreat for a traditional shared Italian dinner. Who could resist?

La Bonta is very excited to host Alessandro Cellai, Chief Oentologist (head of grape growing and winemaking) at Castellare di Castellina, La Bonta's favourite Chiati estate.

Alesandro will share his wisdom and his wine with us, and Chef Tim will deliver a rustic 3 course dinner to complement the Chianti. Alesandro will also offer something special from his private estate.

La Bonta in the Vines

Spend a day in the beautiful surrounds of Domaine Epis Vineyard Woodend, with a long lunch prepared by La Bonta Chef Tim Austin.

Tim will bring his re-imagined Italian banquet right to you in the vineyard for a meal paired with the wines of one of the Macedon Ranges best.

Our host Winemaker Alec Epis will regale you with tales of his old haunt Kalgoorlie, the vineyard and, of course his beloved Essendon Football Club.

The meal will be a feast of local produce – think slow-cooked Tuki lamb or McIvor Pork with potato gnocchi – served with the exceptional chardonnay, pinot noir and cabernet that Alec is famous for. There may even be some special treats made by Tim and Alec together, inspired by Alec’s home town of Bergamo.
